  • CONTEMPOARY

Contemporary dance is like painting with your body, blending various dance styles into a fluid, expressive form. It breaks free from the strict rules of classical ballet, allowing dancers to explore movement in a more natural, grounded way. Picture flowing motions that rise and fall, sharp bursts of energy followed by soft, suspended pauses. It’s a dance style that often tells a story or conveys deep emotions, connecting the dancer to the music and the space around them.

Rather than focusing on perfect lines or traditional steps, contemporary dance encourages creativity and personal expression. Dancers can explore unique ways of moving—sometimes fast and wild, other times slow and deliberate. It’s a style that embraces the unexpected, inviting both the dancer and the audience to feel something new, something deeply human.

  • BALLET

Ballet is a highly technical and graceful form of dance that originated in the courts of Renaissance Italy and developed into a formalized art in France and Russia. It emphasizes precise movements, fluidity, and elegance, all while telling a story or expressing emotion. Ballet dancers perform on their toes (en pointe), executing turns, leaps, and graceful poses with poise and control.

Characterized by its strict structure, ballet has a set vocabulary of movements and positions, such as pliés, pirouettes, and arabesques. It often requires years of training to master the technique, strength, and flexibility needed for this demanding art form. Ballet is typically performed to classical music, and dancers often wear tutus, leotards, and pointe shoes in performances. It’s known for its timeless beauty and ability to convey emotion through movement, creating a seamless connection between the dancer and the audience.

  • JAZZ

Jazz dance is a lively, energetic form of dance that blends elements of ballet, modern dance, and African American rhythms and movements. Known for its upbeat and expressive style, jazz dance emphasizes strong, sharp movements, isolations (moving one part of the body independently from the rest), and dynamic jumps and turns. It’s often performed to jazz, pop, or contemporary music, making it versatile and adaptable to various musical styles.

Jazz dance encourages individuality and personal expression, allowing dancers to add their own flair to the movements. From smooth and fluid to fast and funky, it can range in style depending on the music and choreography. Key elements include syncopation, quick footwork, and a strong sense of rhythm. Jazz is frequently seen in musical theater, film, and commercial dance, offering a vibrant way to tell stories and captivate audiences.

  • HIP - HOP

Hip hop dance is a high-energy and expressive style of street dance that originated in the 1970s in urban communities, primarily in New York City. It’s closely tied to hip hop music and culture, reflecting elements of improvisation, creativity, and individual style. Unlike more structured dance forms, hip hop encourages freedom of movement, self-expression, and breaking traditional rules.

Key styles within hip hop dance include breaking (or breakdancing), popping, locking, and krumping, each with its own distinct techniques. These styles involve sharp, dynamic movements like body isolations, footwork, spins, and intricate arm motions, often performed in sync with beats and rhythms of hip hop music.

Hip hop is often performed in cyphers (dance circles) or battles, where dancers showcase their skills and compete against each other in a playful, competitive environment. It’s a dance form that celebrates individuality, culture, and creativity, making it a central part of hip hop’s global influence on music, fashion, and art.
